President for a day: oh, what fun that would be.

Perhaps you’d anathema guns or moment down on Wall Street. Perhaps you’d check out what unequivocally happened in Roswell. Perhaps you’d be overcome by a spell of compulsory dizziness, roving Airforce One to your gold-plated Ferrari before removing Nigella Lawson to prepare a mark of dinner.

A crony reckons if he were US President, he’d lamp giveaway wireless internet opposite each in. of Planet Earth. How could al-Qaeda hatred we then?

Of course, daydreams are inexpensive and elementary and flitting law isn’t scarcely that easy. As in a second half of his initial tenure in a Presidential office, Barack Obama still faces a divided Congress and a Republican-held House of Representatives not utterly eager about fast-tracking his dreams into law.

But tomorrow, as Obama takes a promise for another 4 years, a few pieces and bobs play in a President’s foster some-more so than any other time in a past few years.

Perhaps many importantly, he now definitively carries a weight of US open support.

The final count from November’s choosing shows Obama won his second tenure in bureau by a surprisingly gentle margin.

By a Electoral College count, he won by some-more than Bush kick Kerry, and he won a renouned opinion by some-more than 5 million ballots. Claims to domestic mandates have been lodged with distant reduction considerable figures.

And have we beheld how no one gives a scream about Mitt Romney these days?

Funny that. The male has sensitively melted into a chalky reservoir of domestic oblivion, as a Republican Party works to adjust a picture from his unsuccessful campaign.

America is changeable left, and a diversion of domestic duck before a supposed mercantile precipice valid Republican politicians might have finally reached a indicate of larger eagerness to strech a occasional compromise.

Best of all, of course, Obama no longer needs to give a toss about his popularity. This time there’s no re-election debate to worry about in 4 years’ time.

He can quadruple taxes, return breach and flip a bird to each lobbyist in a nation and he’ll still be President of a US.

So with that in mind, it’s time to arrange a large stuff. Obama’s to-do list has a few important ticks: medical remodel has passed, a fight in Iraq has finished and Osama bin Laden is dead.

But suggestive gun control still needs to get over a line. Guantanamo Bay is still open for business and immigration needs a finish rethink.

If ambitions are unobstructed by domestic nitty-gritty and his dreams are as large as his talk, Obama has a event to instil change that will concrete his domestic greatness.

The seas are rising, America’s warming and, notwithstanding some strong large debate promises in 2008, Obama has so distant finished roughly zero about it. Last year was a hottest year on record for a constant United States.

To paint good change is one thing. To grasp it is utterly another. But what grander idea can exist for a complicated President in improving his nation and planet, than to do only that?
